Dear accordion lovers

We are pleased to invite you to the 9th Victoria International Accordion Festival. For this year we have prepared a program that has been slightly changed from the original plan, due to a much smaller budget then anticipated.

But we have still managed to prepare another week long festival, starting on July 12, with a free concert at the Beacon Hill Park and ending with another free concert on July 19, at Market Square, with performers coming from New Zealand, China, Europe and North America.

We are so happy to be finally able to present to our wonderful audience one of the most accomplished accordionists in the world, winner of several world accordion competitions, Grayson Masefield from New Zealand. His mastery in both classical and variety fields is bringing audience to their feet, all over the world. We have also invited an amazing accordion orchestra from Bosnia, the Accordion Orchestra Ugljevik, known for their fantastic interpretations of Balkan music.

We can not be more proud of our own Rebecca Bracewell, a young rising accordion star, who will perform in our festival and then, a few weeks later, she will be the first accordionist ever to perform in one of the largest summer events in North America, the Symphony Splash, with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra.

Not to forget to mention Jelena Milojevic, one of the foremost classical accordionists in the world, the BC Accordion Orchestra, Victoria Accordion Club Band, Bucan Bucan, along with many other performers in our festival program. Please mark your calendars according to our schedule and you will not regret it.

We look forward to seeing you again in our beautiful Victoria.
