BC Accordion Society

The BC Accordion Society (BCAS) was founded in early 2010 in Victoria B.C. Canada. Our mission is to promote artistic excellence and access to accordion music within the local, provincial, national and international accordion communities by organizing concerts, festivals, workshops, master classes and competitions.

The BCAS has been working for over a decade demonstrating the versatility of accordion music to diverse audiences. Through the presentation of a variety of annual accordion events, the BCAS has enriched not only the accordion community but also the community at large by showcasing and promoting the breadth and depth of accordion genres.

The BC Accordion Society is a voting member of Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) and as such will be representing Canada in all future activities organized by the largest accordion organization in the world.

Victoria International Accordion Festival

In the previous 10 years, Victoria International Accordion Festival has established itself as one of the most recognized accordion festivals in North America.

Probably the greatest achievement was hosting the 66th Coupe Mondiale, the world's largest accordion event, back in 2013, as the part of the 7th Victoria Accordion Festival, when hundreds of accordionists from all over the world showcased their talents for thousands in the audience.

The Festival has published its first CD, "The Best of Victoria International Accordion Festival" featuring some of the world's best accordionists an ensembles like Frank Marocco, Alexander Sevastian, Jelena Milojevic, Cory Pesaturo, Quartetto Gelatto and Trio Voronezh.

As a big part of the Festival, Victoria International Accordion Competition keeps attracting contestants from all over the world. Last year competition had entries from Europe, South America, China and North America.

The world's greatest accordion pedagogues and performers have been adjudicating, giving workshops and performing in Victoria, like Renzo Ruggieri, Jacque Mornet, Frederic Deshamps, Frank Marocco, Vjatcheslav Semionov, Miljan Bjeletic, Jianan Tian, Grayson Massefield, Stas Venglevski... Thanks to the Victoria International Accordion Festival, a city of Victoria is put on a world's accordion map.
